Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and music producer. She was raised by her mother, within the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist insults, she was made to feel unwanted. It was in her ninth grade when she began to gain confidence following her acclaim during an audition. This not only increased the confidence of her, but also changed the direction she pursued in her career. At 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. Her most memorable break came from the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great reviews for her performance. The recognition grew even more for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. In addition to being a popular singer, she released a solo as well as an extended version. As an activist, she strives in the cause of LGBT equality.
